A morning walk to the foot hills of Dhauladhar Range. Triund is one of the easiest and enchanting trek of Himachal. It is a large land of green grass. One can see the mighty Dhauladhar ranges just above the eyes. The ridge elevation is between 2,810 and 2,875 metres. It is a one-day trek approx. 7 Km (one way) from Galu temple near Dharamkot, McloadGanj. The trail is rocky and cut in steps at some places. From Galu devi temple there is an unambiguous byway which goes through a beautiful forest of oak and devdar trees. This stretch through the woods is known as 22 Curves, because of the 22 switchbacks one has to walk through to reach Triund.
One can take a cab from Mcleodganj Main Square at Rs 400/- till Galu Devi Temple or take a auto till Dharamkot at Rs 70/- and from there take 2 Km trek to Galu Devi Temple. There is no camping option available at Triund but one can easily do up and down if starts early in the morning. But must take precautions with weather otherwise it can be worse experience anytime. Nevertheless it is a ultimate trek for beginners or anyone.
